Scouting
Support for the Boy Scout movement came at The American Legion's first National Convention in 1919. Today, there are more than 2,500 Scout units sponsored by Legion Posts throughout the country.
Supporting scouting activities is natural for Legionnaires, who bring their service-learned skills and experiences as Veterans to bear to help build character and positive traits in "Young America." Few other Post activities generate more goodwill from the community.
Post 36 is proud to be the Chartering Organization for Troop 780 and 6780 in West Bend.

Troop 780 is a traditional Boy Scout unit that was established in March of 1964 and Troop 6780 is a scout unit for females that was established in January 2020.
Eagles are not an endangered species in these units.
Since 1965, within Troop 780 and 6780, 112 scouts have made the rank of Eagle. This includes the first female Eagle Scout in Washington County, Wisconsin in 2023.
